WISE is the Waves Ontology for Knowledge Management in Software Engineering. The core entities are Actor, WorkItem, Artefact. The main development goals are simplicity, usability and being integrated into existing ontologies.

The designers considered DOAP, NEPOMUK Ontologies, Baetle, and the Sissy Metamodel.

WISE is currently maintained by FZI.
