[edit] What is the list of metaproperties?

In the main article it says:

The basis of OntoClean are the domain-independent properties of classes, the OntoClean metaproperties: identity, unity, rigidity, and dependence. Recent work has added two more metaproperties: permanence and actuality.

The metaproperties defined are:

Abbreviation
Dependence D
Identity I
Ownership O
Rigidity R
Unity U

These two lists are different. This list adds ownership and does not include the two extra ones. Is there an explanation for this?

[edit] Examples of use

The only example of use I have found is that Ocean has the property Unity. Some more examples would be helpful.

The paper An Overview of OntoClean contains an extended example. It would be nice to have permission from the authors to build that example here.

I now have permission to do this from Nicola Guarino and so will make a start on OntoCleanPaper example.

[edit] Query about Instance of

At the end of the section of the discussion about Rigidity is the following sentence:

The term rigid in OntoClean is meant to describe the instanceOf link between an individual and a rigid class - it cannot be broken.

The property Instance of is now deprecated on Ontoworld. How should this sentence be interpreted now?

Inspecting the page for Instance of it seems the intention there is for this to be marked by the category system, in which case the rigid class will need to be defined as a category held by the individual.
