Talk:Berlin

From semanticweb.org

Jump to: navigation, search

When I try the search

 <BLANK> isCapitalOf Germany

nothing is returned, although the article about Berlin states that Berlin is the capital of Germany. Is this a bug?

The search url is the following: http://wiki.ontoworld.org/index.php/Special:SearchTriple?subject=&relation=isCapitalOf&object=Germany&do=Search+Relations&attribute=&value=

It's because semantic search doesn't work for pages that haven't been saved since the last software update. I updated the Berlin page so it should work now. Fuelbottle 19:03, 8 December 2005 (CET)

[edit] Funny thing you say

that USSR had controlled East Berlin - of course yes, because it was a a part of East Germany. Of course you also should know WHY it did so (who had started a war). Rather it's logical to say that the western alliance had controlled West Berlin (because it was surrounded inside East Germany). Also, I really doubt that US military forces are willing to leave Germany nowadays. Sure, my comment will be deleted. I am sure.

Anyway, a really great extension. I've made a russian language translation, I wonder if developers are interested to put it into the codebase. While making this translation I've found that standard (pre-defined) names of types, namespaces and so on aren't multilanguage safe. Eg, in standard MediaWiki I can use either "Template" namespace or it's russian equivalent "Шаблон" namespace, both will do the same. With Semantic MediaWiki it's possible to use only default language names. That's not good for multilanguage wikis.
