Category:Topic ontology interoperability
From semanticweb.org
[edit] Short Definition
This topic is about the interoperability of ontologies, one of the most important objectives of the Semantic Web and, hence, one topic within the Semantic Web Topic Hierarchy. It can deal with both interoperability of ontologies specified in the same language [1] or the interoperability of ontologies specified in different languages to allow knowledge exchange between different languages, and to find compatible fragments of otherwise incompatible languages. Ontology Interoperability is closely related to Ontology Integration and Ontology Merging.
Ontology interoperability is a part of the Semantic Web Topic Hierarchy. It was introduced in version 1 as described in History of the Semantic Web Topic Hierarchy.
