A.T.E.I.Th., the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, was established in 1983 under Parliamentary Act 1404/83. It is an independent, self-governed legal organisation, supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education. The A.T.E.I. of Thessaloniki aims at providing education of a high quality standard on applied technologies. The A.T.E.I.Th. students acquire knowledge and skills on recent scientific and technological developments and, upon graduating, they are expected to play a key role on linking theory to practise. Throughout their course of study at the A.T.E.I.Th., the sought objective is technology transfer from academia to real life implementations. To fulfil its mission, the A.T.E.I. of Thessaloniki participates in national and international research and development projects and maintains links with industry, business and other types of organisations. It also collaborates with other universities and technology institutes in Greece and abroad.
